NFL Divisional Predictions - NFC

PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS:
_______________________________

NFC -

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
Not a whole lot of surprise here I'm sure considering the offseason they had, it would be pretty tough to NOT pick the Eagles to win the East. Not only did they add big names like DRC, Nnamdi, Cullen Jenkins, Steve Smith Etc, but the other teams in the East have some serious questions that need to be answered going into the season. Will Tony Romo stay healthy? How will Eli perform losing Steve Smith? And as we all know the Redskins are a big mess right now. Eagles take the East fairly easy. Record Prediction: 12-4

NFC West: Arizona Cardinals
The West could be a good battle this year. While they will still most likely end up being the worst division in the league, each team did add some very key parts. 49ers got the big coach hire in Harbaugh, The Rams added guys like Mike Sims-Walker and Quintin Mikell, Seahawks brought in Tarvaris Jackson, Sidney Rice, and Zach Miller. But ultimately I think the Cardinals got the big prize in Kevin Kolb, who paired along with Larry Fitzgerald, could be deadly. Some people also forget they got the dynamic CB out of LSU Patrick Peterson in the draft who will hopefully nicely fill in the void of DRC after they traded him to the Eagles to get Kolb. I could see the Rams and Seahawks giving Arizona a run for it with the new WRs each team got, but I still got the Cardinals
Record Prediction: 8-8

NFC North: Green Bay Packers
The Packers could be very deadly this year, considering they are getting roughly 14 guys back off the IR after basically winning the Super Bowl with their JV team. Only major losses were Daryn Colledge and Cullen Jenkins to Free Agency, but they have two great guys in Derrek Sherrod (Or TJ Lang) and Michael Neal taking their spots, respectively, who should have no problems being successful. The Packers also added dynamic guys like Randall Cobb, Alex Green, and DJ Williams to their already high powered offense. If they can stay injury free, they should have no problem whatsoever winning the North, along as they maintain the mentality they did last year. Record Prediction: 13-3

NFC South: Atlanta Falcons
Undoubtably the toughest division in the NFC and maybe even in the NFL. With 3 teams that could seriously contend to the division and even Carolina could rear its head if the QBs figure it out and the RB duo comes back to true form. I still think though that the Falcons will pull it out, I have no doubt in my mind that Matt Ryan will be even better than last year, especially with the addition of Julio Jones to go along with a solid WR core of Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez at TE. Only question could be the defensive secondary after getting torched by the eventual super bowl champion Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs. Record Prediction: 10-6

NFC Wild Card #1: New Orleans Saints
No surprise to see the Saints in the wild card spot if they can't manage to get the division from the Falcons. Led by one of the best QBs and overall leaders in the game Drew Brees. Not a whole lot of huge moves during the offseason but still some good ones regardless. Like drafting Mark Ingram and signing Darren Sproles after the departure of Reggie Bush, and signing longtime Bears C Olin Kruetz to strengthen the O-Line and signing Fabian Washington. Along with the already thriving WR core of Colston, Meachem, and Henderson. Record Prediction: 9-7

NFC Wild Card #2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If you haven't noticed already, it's a good chance that all three of those contending teams in the South will go to the playoffs, just where is the question. Anyway, Tampa Bay is on the rise, especially their young QB out of the Kansas State Josh Freeman who really seemed to come into his own last year and no doubt will continue to thrive. The Bucs had a very good draft which focused mainly on strengthening the defense, specifically grabbing two of the best DEs in college football, Adrian Clayborn out of Iowa and Da'Quan Bowers from Clemson, the ladder which fell into the Bucs laps after falling to the late second round due to injury concerns. Granted it will be a very young team so anything could happen, but I think they will have a successful year. Record Prediction: 9-7
